Testimonials

The very best dog grooming service.

Ramona provided the very best dog grooming service for our beloved cocker spaniel Ted. He was a bit nervous at the start (it was his first trim), but Ramona went out of her way to make him feel at ease -her genuine love for dogs shines through! We will definitely be back again. Thanks so much The Mud Room!

Fantastic first experience!

Fantastic first experience! Highly recommend. Have tried many groomers in the past and Ramona did a great job with our dogs groom and will definitely be booking in again. They are also incredibly responsive and professional at all times. Thank you!

Sophie

Right on our doorstep.

The new salon is perfect for us as it is just up the road. Frances loves visiting and always comes back soft and smelling lovely. Thanks so much for taking care of our little terror.

Our dog loved her!

Our dog Riley has his hair cut and Ramona was so friendly and nice. She provided a great service and our dog loved her! He got plenty of attention and was made to feel right at home the entire time. Would highly recommend.

  • 🐶HOW TO HAVE HAPPY AND PLAYFUL PUPS WHEN DROPPING OFF AT THE GROOMERS 🐾

⭐️Early Introductions: Familiarise your dog with the grooming environment very early on. Take them for short visits to their groomer before their actual appointment to reduce anxiety.

⭐️Positive Associations: Make the grooming experience positive by associating it with treats, praise, and affection. Reward your dog for calm behavior during grooming sessions. High value treats go a long way!

⭐️Regular Brushing: Regular brushing at home helps your dog get accustomed to being handled and touched, making the grooming process smoother & your pup’s fur healthy , shiny and tangle and knit free which keeps away matts!

⭐️Exercise Beforehand: Give your dog some exercise before the appointment to help them release excess energy and feel more relaxed and comfortable during their grooming!

⭐️Comfort Items: Bring along your dog’s favorite toy, blanket, or comfort item to the groomer’s to provide a sense of familiarity and security or even just their favourite treats.

⭐️Stay Calm: Dogs can pick up on their owner’s emotions. Stay calm and composed during drop-off when you’re confident so is your dog!

⭐️Positive Handover: Say goodbye to your dog calmly and cheerfully. Avoid prolonging goodbyes, as it can increase your dog’s anxiety.

⭐️Communication with your Groomer: Communicate any special instructions or concerns you have with the groomer to ensure your dog’s comfort and safety during the grooming process.

⭐️Routine Visits: Establish a routine grooming this is not only key to reducing your dog’s anxiety as it gains trust with their groomer. But also insures their coat and skin are in optimum health!

Post-Grooming Treat: After picking up your dog, reward them with a special treat or extra cuddles to reinforce positive associations with the grooming experience.

  • We all know that our pets need regular professional grooming, from short-haired Labradors to super fluffy poodles.

As a pet parent, all you want is for your pets to be cared for and happy. Sometimes, it can be quite a challenge finding the right groomer for you specially if you have a nervous or anxious pet.

So, I thought it would be helpful to put together some things you should look out for as well as questions you should be asking when looking for a new groomer.

I will start with a top 3!

1. first and most important is to make sure your groomer is fully qualified! The grooming industry as it stands is not regulated and I cannot emphasise enough how vital it is to find a groomer with a recognised qualification that includes first aid.

2. Make sure your groomer matches your ethos and your pets needs. Ask them about what the grooming process is, what happens if your dog is nervous etc. A good groomer will always be willing to answer any questions that you may have and will have a consultation with you before the appointment.

3. Talk about how long the groom will take. Grooms should take around 2 or so hours for the average medium dog with a good coat and even longer for a cat or coat that hasn’t been groomed in a while. A patient, relaxed groom is key in ensuring that your pet has a calm and positive experience.
