Testimonials

The very best dog grooming service.

Ramona provided the very best dog grooming service for our beloved cocker spaniel Ted. He was a bit nervous at the start (it was his first trim), but Ramona went out of her way to make him feel at ease -her genuine love for dogs shines through! We will definitely be back again. Thanks so much The Mud Room!

Fantastic first experience!

Fantastic first experience! Highly recommend. Have tried many groomers in the past and Ramona did a great job with our dogs groom and will definitely be booking in again. They are also incredibly responsive and professional at all times. Thank you!

Sophie

Right on our doorstep.

The new salon is perfect for us as it is just up the road. Frances loves visiting and always comes back soft and smelling lovely. Thanks so much for taking care of our little terror.

Our dog loved her!

Our dog Riley has his hair cut and Ramona was so friendly and nice. She provided a great service and our dog loved her! He got plenty of attention and was made to feel right at home the entire time. Would highly recommend.

  • Do short haired breeds need to be groomed?

I often hear a lot of dog owners say that they have a short haired dog so they don’t need to be groomed, however grooming your short haired breed is not on essential for their health but has a number of great benefits!

Here are just a few.

⭐️Shedding Management: Short-haired breeds may shed just as much, if not more, than long-haired breeds. Professional grooming helps manage shedding by removing loose fur and reducing the amount of hair left around your home.

⭐️Skin and Coat Health: Regular grooming promotes a healthy coat and skin. It helps distribute natural oils throughout the fur, preventing dryness and flakiness. Grooming also allows groomers to check for any skin issues or abnormalities that may need attention.

⭐️Hygiene Maintenance: Even short coats can become dirty, especially if your dog loves to roll around outdoors. Grooming helps remove dirt, debris, and odors, keeping your pup clean and smelling fresh.

⭐️Nail Trimming: Short-haired dogs still need their nails trimmed regularly to prevent overgrowth, which can lead to discomfort and even health issues. Professional groomers can safely trim your dog’s nails, reducing the risk of injury.

⭐️Ear Care: Ear infections can occur in dogs with any type of coat. Groomers can clean your dog’s ears, removing wax and debris that can lead to infections if left unchecked.

⭐️Dental Health: Grooming appointments are also an opportunity to check your dog’s dental health. Groomers can provide basic dental care, such as teeth brushing, which contributes to overall oral hygiene.

⭐️Bonding and Socialisation: Regular visits to the groomer help your dog become accustomed to being handled by strangers, which can be beneficial for their overall socialisation and behavior.

⭐️Remember, while professional grooming is important, regular at-home care is also crucial for keeping your short-haired dog healthy and happy between grooming appointments.

  • Zen dog 🧘‍♀️
When even the toughest day melts away with a little head scratch. 🐾💆‍♂️ #PamperedPooch”

A little head massage during their bath goes a long way!
Did you know Applying pressure to specific points on your dog’s head, neck, and ears can have positive effects on its entire body, as the nerves in these areas are interconnected. Giving your dog a gentle head massage may alleviate stress, anxiety, and fatigue while promoting their overall well-being.
  • Creating a strong bond between your furry friend and their groomer is vital, especially if your pup tends to get nervous during grooming sessions. 🐶✨⁣

When your dog trusts their groomer, it can make all the difference in their grooming experience. A bond built on trust ensures that your pet feels safe, understood, and ultimately, less stressed during their appointment. 🌟⁣

Encourage this relationship by introducing your dog to their groomer gradually, allowing them time to sniff around and get familiar. Positive reinforcement, patience, and consistency are key ingredients in nurturing this trust. 🤝💕⁣

Remember, a good groomer would never do a full groom session on a nervous dog straight away and they will take their time to ensure your dog feels safe, comfortable and less stressed during their grooms.
